PURPOSE:To obtain easily a mold for duplicating a disk by a method wherein information is printed on the resist provided on a substrate, developed, then etched and the mold is made by removing the residual resist. CONSTITUTION:An oxidation film 6 is provided directly on the surface of a silicone substrate 5 or by thermally or chemically oxidizing the surface of the silicone substrate 5 and coated with resist 7. Glow-modulated laser rays are irradiated to said resist 7 according to information to be recorded such as audio signals to print the information and further develop the printed information. Therefore, the exposed silicone substrate 5 or the oxidation film 6 is etched and the residual resist is removed to make a mold. In this manner molds for duplicating disks can be manufacture easily.
