MANUFACTURE OF SHORT METAL FIBER

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve the production efficiency of short metal fiber by employing a comb tool having one corner section of each chip of a plurality of square chips as the leading edge while the corner sections at both blade sections at the leading edge are lapped over each other and arranged in sawtooth shape. CONSTITUTION:Square chip 1 having stepped edge section of predetermined short fiber length (L) is arranged on each side and secured through a bolt 3 to the upper face of a holder 2. Here each chip 1 has one corner section (C) as the leading edge while the corner sections (D) at both blades at the leading edge are lapped over the corner section (D) of adjoining chip 1 and secured to a cutter table 4 to constitute a comb-shaped tool 4'. When contacting said tool 4' against a metal block 5 and providing predetermined feed perpendicular with the rotary shaft of the metal block 5 to said tool 4' to perform cutting, short metal fiber is produced through vibration.
