PURPOSE:To enable a corner chipping process to be further widely used by resiliently supporting a punch having a cutting upper blade on its upper part and making use of a notched concave surface as a stopper for courner parts of a workpiece plate material in a corner chipping device for cutting down the tips of the corners of the plate materials, etc. CONSTITUTION:This corner chipping device 1 comprises a punch 2 for receiving the pressing force of a ram 37 and a body 3 for resiliently supporting this punch 2. The punch 2 is equipped with upper blades 5a, 5b provided by forming notched parts 4a, 4b on the two adjoining side surfaces of the upper half part of a square piller member, where the concave surface of each of the notched parts 4a, 4b functions as a stopper for stopping the corner parts Po of the workpiece plate material P. This punch 2 is resiliently energized upward due to a spring 28 in a state where a movable stroke is defined by a stopper spring 27 engaging with a stopper concave portion 9 within the body 3. And, the plate member P positioned at a prescribed location by a guide member 31 is cut in cooperation with a lower blade 24b on the body 3 side when the punch 2 is pressed down. |
