1481869 Bearings SKF INDUSTRIAL TRADING & DEVELOPMENT CO BV 12 Sept 1974 [19 Sept 1973] 39814/74 Heading F2A A bearing assembly comprising an inner ring 2 and an outer ring 3 rotatably mounted relative to each other by rolling elements 6, 7 arranged in two rows between the rings 2, 3, and a cage 10 separating the rolling elements 6, 7, being centred by them and being adapted to be inserted from one side only when they are in position, the bearing assembly being characterized in that the cage is so dimensioned as to permit relative movement in the circumferential direction of the bearing between each rolling element, e.g. 6, in one row and the adjacent rolling element 7 in the other row. The cage may be as Figs. 2 or 3 (not shown) where the balls in one row can move within a clearance gap (14) or (15), or as Fig. 4 (not shown), where the movement is permitted by flexing of the cage at narrow necks (22). The cage may be in two parts (25), (26), as in Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown); Fig. 6 shows the first part (26) being inserted. The ends (29A) and (29B) are provided with snap connections (30). The cage may be of polyamide or glass reinforced plastics.
