PURPOSE:To improve a resistance property to fluid leakage by performing crimping two times in a nonaqueous electrolyte battery using manganese dioxide for a positive electrode active material and lithium for a negative electrode active material. CONSTITUTION:Negative electrode lithium 3 is allowed to make close contact with a negative electrode can 2 previously united in a body with an insulating gasket 1 to adopt them a negative electrode unit. A positive electrode composite agent 5 mainly composed of the negative electrode unit, a separator 4, an electrolyte, and manganese dioxide is assembled, a positive electrode can 6 is set, and first time crimping is performed. Then, second time crimping is performed, and at any crimping on and after the second time crimping, positive electrode can height H is more lowered than that at preceeding crimping. And, at any crimping from the second time one on, the total height of a captioned battery is made the same as that at preceeding crimping. In such a way, it is possible to reduce the height of the positive electrode can in a state with little deformation of the negative electrode can to permit the insulating gasket to be sufficiently compressed, thus enabling a sealing property and so resistance to fluid leakage to be improved. |
