PURPOSE:To attain an X-Y recorder which eliminates the need for synchronization with the digital input signal by constituting a signal processing circuit of a digital circuit of a system and driving each motor in following up to the input of the digital input signal. CONSTITUTION:A control part 1 contains the 1st memory circuit 5 which switches and stores the present positions of motors 12 and 13 of a motor drive part 2 to store them and outputs the value of the storage as a position signal. This position signal is compared with the input signals supplied from terminals A and B, and the forward/reverse revolutions of the motor are outputted to the part 2 in response to the result of said comparison by an addition/subtraction signal generating circuit 6 of the part 1. In addition, the 2nd memory circuit 7 stores the position signal output of the circuit 5 and the signal transmission sequence fed from the circuit 6, and a control circuit 8 controls an input/output circuit 3, etc. The part 2 also includes a timing circuit 9 which distributes the signals supplied via the circuit 3 to each corresponding motor. These distributed signals drive the motors 12 and 13 via up/down counters 14 and 15 and motor driving circuits 10 and 11. In such a constitution, the synchronization with the input signal is not needed.
