PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a back washing method for filter in no need for a complicated structure and capable of sure back washing operation. SOLUTION: A filter of a dust collecting machine for filtering sewage sludge incineration waste gas is back washed as far each filter module 11. A purified gas chamber 13 is connected to a collecting suction duct 15 by an exhaust pipe 16 and back washing is executed by spraying the back washing air of 1000-3000 mmAq from a back washing nozzle 18 provided in the collecting suction duct 15 opposite to the center part of the exhaust pipe 16 at every 20-40 min for 0.5-1 sec.
