PRODUCTION OF HALOGENATED ALPHA-OLEFIN COPOLYMER

摘要

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled high-quality copolymer without causing gelation and decomposition, by bringing a dispersion formed from an organic solvent phase in which an alpha-olefin copolymer is dissolved and a water phase into contact with a halogen. CONSTITUTION:An alpha-olefin copolymer of a m.p. <=100 deg.C and a crystallinity <=50% is dissolved in an organic solvent which can dissolve this copolymer under the condition of the reaction. 0.3-50pts.wt. water per 100pts.wt. organic solvent is added to the reaction system so as to form a reaction system comprising two phases, i.e., an organic solvent solution phase containing the alpha-olefin coplymer and a water phase and to bring these two phases into a state of a dispersion. This dispersion is brought into contact with a halogen at 100 deg.C to a halogen content of 10-35wt% to obtain the purpose halogenated alpha-olefin copolymer.
