PURPOSE: A cable assembly is provided to improve a transmission speed of data and allow a connection between a main body of a computer and a monitor apart from each other at a distance of more than 10 meter. CONSTITUTION: A cable(20) has a plurality of fiber-optic lines and a plurality of wires for transmission of a clock signal and power supplying and grounding. And a plug(30) is connected to both ends of the cable. In the cable, the plug is comprised of a housing and a ferrule disposed in the housing to form a guiding groove corresponding to the fiber-optic line, wherein ferrule has a guiding pin connected to the wire arranged in a line. In the assembly, the fiber-optic line made of quartz glass or plastic is coated by PET(polyethylene terephthalate). The plurality of fiber-optic lines and wires are coated by PVC(polyvinyl chloride). The wire is comprised of a conductor and the PET coated on the conductor. The plurality of fiber-optic lines and wires are also coated by a shielding layer and a shell to protect the lines and wires from external force.
