<p>PURPOSE:To produce stably a strip having an excellent shape in the stage of performing simultaneously plural stages of rolling with a cold rolling mill having a large rolling reduction by providing a bend to guide rollers for the strip to be rolled or ruggedness to the cylindrical part thereof. CONSTITUTION:A strip 1 which is a material to be rolled is once detached from work rolls and enters the succeeding work rolls after the strip is guided by guide rollers 8 and tension is applied on the strip with a cold rolling mill in which plural stages of rolling are accomplished with plural work rolls 2-5. When the strip 1 elongates at the middle part or at the ends, the rollers 8 are moved by hydraulic cylinders 11, 12 to provide leveling tension and tapering tension on the rollers 8 and at the same time a bending moment is applied on the rollers 8 by bending cylinders 13, 14 to generate axial deflection, by which the shape of the strip 1 is controlled normally. The same result is obtd. by deforming the crown in the cylindrical part of the rolls 8 to a recessed or projecting shape.</p> |
