PURPOSE:To prevent the cracking and stripping of a repaired part by repairing the damaged part of a converter by a spraying method in a state in which part of molten slag produced during refining remains in the converter after discharging steel and by coating the surface of the repaired part with the molten slag. CONSTITUTION:Steel and slag are discharged from a converter, and part of molten slag is left in the converter. In this state, refractory powder for repairing is sprayed on the damaged part of the lining to form a dense reparied part. The converter is then tilted to coat the repaired part with the molten slag. The resulting slag layer reduces the generation of thermal stress in the repaired part due to a temp. change, so the cracking and stripping of the repaired part are prevented. |
