PURPOSE:To enable titled estimation by determining the time required for a certain layer to pass through one of two temp. measuring sensors provided apart at a specific distance in a height direction as well as the delay time between the upper and lower sensors and calculating the descending speed and layer thickness of the charge. CONSTITUTION:Temp. measuring sensors 2a, 2b are installed apart at a specific length (l) in the proper places of the wall 1 of a vertical type furnace and the temps. in the low temp. layer (for example, coke layer) C and high temp. layer (for example, ore layer) O descending continuously in the direction of a drop- out arrow are intermittently or continuously measured. While the time (descending time; DELTAt) required for the certain layer to pass through the sensor 2a is determined, the delay time tau until the result of the detection with the lower sensor 2b corresponding to the result of the detection with the sensor 2a is measured is determined. The descending speed V and layer thickness D of the layers C, O are calculated from both equations V=l/tau(m/sec), D=V.DELTAt(m), by which the descending condition of the charge in the furnace is estimated. |
