In a reproducing arrangement (2) for reproducing analog and digital audio and video information, having analog connection means (9) via which analog A/V signals (A/V3, A/V4) can be applied to the reproducing arrangement (2) and can be supplied by the reproducing arrangement (2), and having digital connection means (13) via which digital A/V data (A/D) and control data (SD) can be applied to the reproducing arrangement (2) and can be supplied by the reproducing arrangement (3), and having reproducing means (30) for, in an analog reproducing mode, reproducing an analog A/V signal (A/V3) recorded on a record carrier and for supplying a reproduced A/V signal (A/V3) to the analog connection means (9) and, in a digital reproducing mode, reproducing digital A/V data (A/D) recorded on a record carrier and for supplying reproduced A/V data (A/D) to the digital connection means (13), and having OSD generator means (29) adapted to generate on-screen display information and to supply generated on-screen display information to the analog connection means (9) as an analog A/V signal (A/V3) when OSD activation information (OI) appears, the analog connection means (9) are now formed by connectors in accordance with the SCART standard and the analog connection means (9) are adapted to supply output control information (AS2) on a pin 8 (P4) of the analog connection means (9) when OSD activation information (OI) appears while the reproducing arrangement (2) is in the digital reproducing mode.
