Internal surface deposit layers are provided on the walls of void spaces in a porous, electroconductive body by (I) filling the void space in the porous body with a bath containing an electrodepositable substance; (II) immersing the bath-replete body in an electroconductive medium, which is different from the bath and contains no depositable material; and (III) applying a direct electrical potential.
