The filler unit is for the space between a supporting surface and the article to be supported by it. It is built up from a number of platee (1) lying flat against each other and easily detachable from each other. The ends of the plates can be stepped in relation to each other, and the plates can be in strip form, and detachable from each other by easily-broken hinges (2). These extend for only a short distance along the plates.
