PURPOSE:To protect an electrical element from breakage by a method wherein, in the integrated circuit device wherein external leads have been incorporated into odd pieces of SIL packages, the terminals for lowest potential are respectively chosen as an intermediate lead in the center of each of groups of external leads. CONSTITUTION:In an integrated circuit device wherein external leads have been incorporated in odd pieces of SIL packages, the leads to lead out the lowest potential have been respectively chosen as an intermediate lead in the center of each of groups 1-5 of external leads. Namely, in case a group of external leads consists of odd pieces of five pieces, the third external lead has been chosen as a terminal for lowest potential in such a way that the third external lead is sure to be the terminal for lowest potential even though the lead is counted from either the right side or the left side. This means that the external lead for lowest potential is sure to be turned to the same condition as the regularly inserted condition even though a reverse insertion is suddenly made. Accordingly, even though there is no protective resistor to make current limit, the electrical element can be protected from breaking and the integration degree can be set up to the minimum. |
