An optical measurement quantity pick-up which is connected via two optical conductors (5, 6) to two light sources (1, 2) alternately emitting light, and via the same optical conductors to two light receivers (11, 12), with interposition of optical couplers (8, 9), and in which, for compensating for the influences of changes in the transmission path, a light modulator (7) reflects light in a measurement-quantity-dependent manner into the optical conductor (5 or 6) subject to one of the light sources (1 or 2) and transmits light into the other optical conductor (6 or 5, respectively), the ratio of the product of the light intensities of the light of both sources (1, 2), alternately reflected by the modulator (7) into the optical conductors (5, 6), to the product of the light intensities of the light of the two sources (1, 2) transmitted by the modulator (7) into the optical conductors (5, 6) being used as a measure of the measurement quantity. The invention is used in fibre-optical sensors. <IMAGE>
