GAS THROTTLING DEVICE FOR COATING LIQUID ON ONE SIDE OF STEEL STRIP

PURPOSE:To prevent the splash generated from strip edges and direct spreading of a coating liquid to the rear of the strip by providing auxiliary nozzles underneath a gas throttling nozzle and forming the specific combined gaseous flow by both gaseous flows. CONSTITUTION:Cylindrical auxiliary nozzles 13, 13' are disposed underneath a gas throttling nozzle 7 at 0-90 deg. angle toward the edges of a strip 1 and a gas sucker 14 is further provided underneath the same. The sucker 14 is so constructed that the separated coating liquid is taken out through a discharging port 15 and is used in circulation. The gas after sepn. of the coating liquid is passed through a fan 16 for suction and a scrubber 17 and is reutilizad. Gaseous flow 11 from the strip edges toward the central direction of the strip is induced by the nozzles 13, 13' during operation and combined gaseous flow 12 is formed by said flow and the gaseous flow 10 from the nozzle 7.
