PURPOSE:To obtain a heat insulation coat with the low adsorption and exhaust of moisture and impure gas by mixing, applying, and heating phosphate series compound and the white refractory powder that reacts to said compound and advancing dehydration condensation reaction between coating materials. CONSTITUTION:Electrodes 5a and 5b are airtightly sealed in the end of the luminous tube, made of quartz, of a metal halide lamp. Heat insulating coats 6a and 6b are formed outside quartz glass that encloses the electrodes 5a and 5b. These heat insulating coats are obtained by adding a proper amount of water to mullite fiber (3Al2O3.2SiO2) of 70% in weight and aluminum phosphate of 30% to obtain aqueous dispersion material, coating both ends of a luminous tube with said material by known means such as dipping, brushing, troweling, spraying, etc., drying it at normal temperatures, heating it at approximately 400 deg.C for 15 minutes, and curing the coat. |
