This invention relates to novel cyclopropane-carboxylic acid esters of the formula, wherein R1 is hydrogen atom or fluorine atom; when R1 is hydrogen atom, R2 is hydrogen atom or trifluoromethyl group; when R1 is fluorine atom, R2 is hydrogen atom or a halogen atom (e.g., fluorine, chlorine or bromine atom); R3 is ethynyl or 1-propynyl group; R4 is a group of the formula (in which X is methyl group or a halogen atom (e.g., fluorine, chlorine or bromine atom)) or (in which Y is a halogen atom (e.g., fluorine, chlorine or bromine atom)), and their production and an insecticidal and acaricidal composition containing them as an active ingredient.
