PURPOSE:To obtain an all-environmental superior photoconductive member by laminating the first layer region contg. Ge partially or more crystallized; the second amorphous layer region contg. Si and Ge; the third photoconduct layer region contg. an amorphous material including Si; and the fourth layer region contg. C and Si on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:The first layer region 106 contg. Ge or Ge and Si partially or more crystallized; the second amorphous layer region 103 contg. Si and Ge; the third photoconductive layer region 104 contg. an amorphous material including Si; and the fourth layer region 107 made of an amorphous material contg. C and Si are laminated on a conductive substrate 101 to form a photoconductive member having a photoreceptive layer 102. The layer 106 and/or the layer 103 contains an element of group III, such as B, or an element of group V, such as P, and one of the layers 106, 103, 104, and 107 contains H or halogen. As a result, the photoconductive member thus obtained has high sensitivity to lights in all the visible region, IR, UV, and X-rays, and light resistance and non or very little residual potential, and superior characteristics. |
