In this photon/phonon treatment apparatus for application to substrates, plants, animals and humans, electromagnetic quanta (photons) and acousto-mechanical quanta (phonons) are used simultaneously or intermittently, there being formed in the treated medium solitary waves which can develop a particularly favourable therapeutic effect. The signal power can therefore be selected to be so small that there is no noticeable disturbance in the surroundings.
