PURPOSE:To obtain a water treating agent for preventing the corrosion of a metal contacting with water and the deposition of scale on the metal by adding polyacrylic acid, aliphatic oxycarboxylic acid and benzotriazoles as effective components. CONSTITUTION:A water treating agent is obtd. by adding about 5-30wt% polyacrylic acid or salt thereof, about 5-30wt% aliphatic oxycarboxylic acid or salt thereof, and about 1-10wt% benzotriazoles as effective components. The polyacrylic acid has 20,000mol.wt. Gluconic acid, citric acid, malic acid, tartaric acid, lactic acid or glycolic acid is used as the aliphatic oxycarboxylic acid. The benzotriazoles are represented by the formula (where X is H, lower alkyl, carboxyl or alkoxycarboxyl, and M is H or an alkali metal), and they include 1H- benzotriazole, etc. |
