PURPOSE:To obtain a recording head having high accuracy and high reliability by preventing contamination due to an adhesive, the excessive etching at the end part of a conductive magnetic body and the detachment of the conductive magnetic body from an insulating substrate in a process, by adhering a conductive magnetic sheet, which is larger than a substrate, to the substrate and forming a plurality of conductive magnetic bodies positioned between slits while forming a bonding pad to one end part of each conductive magnetic body. CONSTITUTION:A conductive magnetic sheet 22, which is larger than a glass substrate 21, is bonded to the glass substrate 21 through an insulating adhesive layer 23 and a resist pattern having a plurality of sits is formed to said sheet 22 and used as a mask to selectively remove the sheet 22 by etching to form plural slits 24 and the resist pattern is released. Ni-plating is applied to the end part of the sheet 22 in the longitudinal direction thereof along with the substrate 21 and, after the whole is immersed in a gold plating bath, the frame shaped part of the sheet 22 around the slits is used as a common electrode to apply electroplating to form a gold plating layer 25 for a bonding pad. Subsequently, the surface of the sheet 21 is covered with a protective film and, thereafter, the sheet 21 and the gold plating layer 25 are cut along the outer edge of the substrate 21 to perform polishing. |
