The measuring device is capable of continuously measuring boron content, primarily in nuclear power stations, which was hitherto only possible in a discontinuous manner. It essentially comprises a flow-type container having a neutron source, a neutron counter tube and moderator, and a microprocessor-controlled evaluating electronic system. The neutron flux generated in the neutron source is suitably thermalised and reflected in a polyethylene moderator. The reflected neutron flux passes through a water column enriched with boric acid and is attenuated as a function of the boron concentration level, this attenuation being determined with the aid of a neutron counter tube. The basic arrangement is as shown in the accompanying drawing in section 3. <IMAGE>
