PURPOSE:To prevent damage of a stylus due to imbalance of the tip of a pickup by holding up the reproducing stylus by passing a coil current excepting while the reproducing stylus is lowered onto the surface of a disk. CONSTITUTION:When a player is not electrically conducted, a reproducing stylus is at a position D where holding rubber is balanced with a pickup, and when the player is conducted for reproducing, the stylus 3 is at a position E where the stylus is in contact with the surface of a disk 7. When reproducing is completed, a current reverse to lowering of the stylus is supplied to a coil 6, the tip of the pick up is lifted up and held at a position C where it touches a stopper 13 that mechanically restrains the movement. In this case, the direction of current applied to the coil 6 is determined by a polarity determining circuit 14 according to inputted stylus force on/off signal 10, and the current to be applied is adjusted by a stylus force adjusting circuit 15. |
