PURPOSE:To shorten process and remove indistinctness of display due to slipping out of position of a display electrode and an insulating layer by forming the display electrode while making the rest excepting the part to be made into the display electrode of a metal thin film coated uniformly on an insulated substrate into an insulator by an anode oxidation method. CONSTITUTION:After forming a photoresist image of a prescribed pattern on an Al thin film about 1mum in thickness coated on a glass substrate by sputtering, for instance, the rest excepting the resist-coated part is made into an insulating layer 23 by anode oxidation in the 2% sulfuric acid solution. Next, resist is removed for obtaining a display electrode 22 of the prescribed pattern. Further, a phosphor layer 24, a grid 25, a filament 26 and a cover glass 27 are provided to finish a phosphor display tube. |
