PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nail interval measuring instrument which measures and adjusts easily and accurately an interval between nails. SOLUTION: The nail interval measuring instrument A has a case, a first arm 110 and a second arm 120 projecting from the case. The first arm 110 is fixed to the case and the second arm 120 is freely movable in parallel to the X direction in figure. There is an interval detection part for measuring the interval between the first arm 110 and the second arm 120 in the case. There is a screw bar 133 supported by a screw hole 131A outside the case. When rotating the bar 133, it is moved in the X direction in figure to vary the position of one end of the bar 133 abutted on an engaging arm 104. In the case of measuring the interval between the nails the bar 133 is moved to be close to the first arm 110 to expand the movable range of the second arm. In the case of adjusting the interval between the nails, the bar 133 is moved in an opposite direction by a prescribed quantity to prevent the arm 104 from moving toward the side of the first arm 110 from a prescribed position to prohibit the second arm 120 from approaching the side of the first arm 110 to be closer than a fixed distance.
