distillation industry. SUBSTANCE: fermentation apparatus has safety and return valves, gas supply and gas discharge pipelines and distributing device. The latter has delivery pipes with nozzles and is mounted for rotation about apparatus central axis. Nozzles are oriented in opposite directions. Carbon dioxide released during fermentation process is directed along gas discharge pipeline via return valve into fermentation apparatus gas pipeline. Gases flow via distributing device to be directed to delivery pipes and discharged from nozzles and create torque urging pipes to rotate. It results in mash mixing and flowing. Apparatus may be used in fermentation industry, in particular, in method involving periodic mash fermentation from starch-containing raw material. EFFECT: intensified fermentation process, reduced fermentation time and decreased amounts of sediments on fermentation apparatus bottom and reduced operational costs. 3 dwg
