PURPOSE:A water-soluble cutting oil, containing a specific amount of copper salt of a chain or cyclic carboxylic acid, and having improved corrosion resistance and rust preventing properties. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble cutting oil containing 10-5,000ppm, preferably 500-1,500ppm expressed in terms of copper content, copper salt of a 6-18C chain or cyclic carboxylic acid (preferred example; oleic acid, stearic acid, palmitic acid, lauric acid or nonanoic acid) as the chain carboxylic acid or benzoic acid, p-tert-butylbenzoic acid or naphthenic acid as the cyclic carboxylic acid. |
