PURPOSE:To obtain an optical glass element having high surface precision, by specifying the surface roughness of the inner wall of a mold made of molybdenum, molding it under heating and pressure. CONSTITUTION:The surface roughness of the inner wall of a mold made of molybdenum to store glass is set at <=5/100mu. Namely, the surface is in a state free from pore even if high pressure is applied to the surface of the sintered material of molybdenum, and the surface roughness is set depending upon the required surface precision of the optical glass element. Glass is put in the mold made of molybdenum, molded by pressure under heating in a vacuum, etc., to give the optical glass element having the desired surface precision. |
