PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium which has higher coercive force and higher recording density by dispersing numerous mutually independent ferromagnetic areas in non-magnetic area of metal or alloy. CONSTITUTION:A ferromagnetic area 1 and a non-magnetic area 2 exist alternately and recording is done by magnetizing the ferrmagnetic area 1. In this way, if the non-magnetic area 2 exists around the ferromagnetic area 1, there is a distance between two recording units and the mutual effect becomes smaller. If a recording unit is assumed to be a dipole, the mutually affecting energy between two recording units is in inverse proportion to the cube of the distance whereby the coercive force in the recording unit area can be smaller. In this case, it seems that the recording density is reduced but the magnitude of the recording unit is vertically or horizontally nearly equal to each other and in the area density, the recording quantity is drastically increased. Consequently, this constitution increases coercive force and recording density. |
