<p>1,1,1,4-Tetrachloro-4-methyl-2- pentene is prepared by reacting 1,1,1-trichloro-2-hydroxy-4-methyl- 3-pentene with thionyl chloride or by reacting chloral with isobutylene. The novel compound can be reduced to give 1,1-dichloro-4-methyl- 1,3-pentadiene in high yield.</p> |
