<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide three-tube burner and method of injecting fuel and oxidizer by means of such a burner, wherein a fluid supply plant can be reused as it is without modification by permitting the burner to be fastened to a furnace quarl in such a way that at least one end region of the burner is housed in the quarl. SOLUTION: To reduce the overall size of and to simplify the supply for three-tube burners, and to allow easier interchangeability with two-tube burners, the burner(Br) comprises an inlet (5) for a fuel and a fuel feed tube (2) connected to this fuel inlet, an inlet (6) for an oxidizer and two oxidizer feed tubes (1, 3) connected to this oxidizer inlet, and control valves (7, 9) for controlling the distribution of the oxidizer between the two oxidizer feed tubes (1, 3). By means of this burner, and more specifically of the control valves (7, 9), the distribution of the oxidizer between the tubes (1, 3) may be continuously adjusted. The burner can be used for glass furnaces and metallurgical furnaces.</p> |
