PURPOSE:To predict and estimate accuratly the overall quality of including the quality of produced gas and produced tar, by estimating the heat quantity of coke, gas tar produced by the cole carbonization from volatile content and calorific value of various kinds of raw material coal with a high accuracy. CONSTITUTION:Calorific values distributed respectively to coke, gas and tar produced in carbonizing various kinds of raw material coal are estimated from the measured values of volatile content and calorific value of the raw material coal to evaluate the quality of the coal for producing coke. Specifically, the calorific values (QiC), (QiG and (QiT) distributed to the respective carbonization products from the various kinds of raw material coal can be predicted from formulas I , II and III (QiC is the calorific value of the coke, QiG is the gross calorific value of the gas; QiT is the gross calorific value of the tar) using the easily measurable volatile content (Xi) and calorific value (Qi) of the respective kinds of raw material coal with a high accuracy.
