PURPOSE:To retrieve and designate goods number data including numeric data in the same digits as inputted numeric data by inputting only readable numeric data of a goods number in a sales data processing device. CONSTITUTION:A question mark key 1c is operated in the digit position, where the registered numerical value cannot be read, to input, for example, ''12?4'' to a register X. Next, a search key 1d is depressed to execute a prescribed search operation. The operation begins with an initializing processing which sets a register A to ''1'', and goods numbers are read out successively from a goods number-classified menory 3a, and goods number ''1204'' is read out to a register Y from an area M8. Though contents in registers X and Y coincide with each other and ''slacks'' is displayed on a display part 4, the search key 1d is depressed again because it is different from the actual goods name, and goods number ''1224'' in the next address area M9 is read out from the memory 3a. Goods name ''socks'' corresponding to this goods number is displayed on the display part 4. The operator operates a goods number key 1e and operates a money key 1f after entering the amount of money, and thus, the goods number of ''socks'' is registered. |
