摘要 PURPOSE:To read a character accurately without the influence of the thickness of a form by giving a signal, which corresponds to a degree of opaqueness of the form detected by an opaque degree detecting part, to a threshold generating circuit and binarizing a photoelectric transdueing signal on a basis of the output of this circuit. CONSTITUTION:A photoelectric transducing part 1 receives the reflected light from the form and outputs a photoelectric transducing signal 100 obtained by photoelectric conversion of this reflected light to a photoelectric amplifying part 2. This amplifying part 2 amplifies the signal 100 and sends it to a quantizing part 3, and the quantizing part 3 compares the signal 100 with a prescribed threshold to output a binary signal 200. In this case, an opaque degree signal 300 corresponding to the degree of opaqueness which is varied by the thickness of the form is supplied to the quantizing part 3, and the quantizing part 3 changes the threshold by the signal 300 to obtain a quantizing level corresponding to the degree of opaqueness of the form.
