<p>Metronidazole retinoate and mizonidazole retinoate, with the formula (I) <CHEM> which are new compounds, are useful in the treatment of acne by topical application. Pharmaceutical compositions comprising retinoic acid or a lower alkyl ester thereof and an ester of metronidazole or mizonidazole with an acid of formula RCOOH in which R is an aliphatic residue such that RCOOH is an aliphatic acid of 3 to 10 carbon atoms, are useful for the same purpose.</p> |
