PURPOSE:To improve the lubricity in the succeeding drawing work and to manufacture an Al extruded product of high quality without causing surface defects and wire breakage, etc. by coating an Al alloy having specific composition on the surface of an Al extruding material. CONSTITUTION:On the surface of an extruding material consisting of a single substance of Al or Al alloy or a composite material composed by coating an Al alloy on the outer circumference of a core material consisting of iron, steel, or Fe-Ni alloy; an Al alloy containing Mg and Li, whose quantities of Mg+7XLi are regulated to 0.005-0.2%, is coated. In case of drawing said Al alloy or composite material an Al extruded product excellent in quality and free from wire breakage and surfaces defects such as seizure and split caused by the friction between the material and a tool is obtained. |
