PURPOSE:To provide a screen for stencil printing free of halation at the time of forming a stencil film and having excellent adhesion between a photosensitive film (stencil film) and the screen, woven from polyester filament yarns subjected to a specified surface-roughening treatment. CONSTITUTION:Polyester filament yarns provided on the surface thereof with rugged patterns having a distance between the centers of adjacent recessed parts (or projected parts) of 0.01-0.7mum, a depth (or height) of not smaller than 0.05mum, and a density of 1-200pieces/mum<2>, are woven into a screen cloth, which is then treated with an alkali to reduce the quantiy, and is heat-set to obtain the printing screen. The polyester filament yarn is produced by a method wherein colloidal silica or the like having an average particle diameter of not larger than about 100-mmum is uniformly dispersed in a polyester (comprising at least about 70% of a recurring unit of glycol dicarboxylate), the resultant material is spun into a yarn, and during spinning (or after spinning), the yarn is treated with an alkali to elute the fine particles of silica, thereby providing the surface of the yarn. |
