PURPOSE:To enable a photogaphic useful reagent, such as antifoggant or coupler, to be kept stable during storage and released at a good timing by substituting its active group at the specified position of the cyclic amide group of a specified compd. CONSTITUTION:The active group of a photographic reagent, such as antifoggant, is blocked, as shown in formula II, with a compd. represented by formula I in which Z is an atomic group necessary to form a 5-7-membered ring; at least one of R<1>, R<2>, and R<3> can be substd. by the active group of said reagent at the position of an electron attractive group, such as -CO- or -NH-, combining with a amide-N through bond and capable of being cleft by the intramolecular nucleophilic reaction of the amide-N or the intramolecular transfer from it during development; (n) is 0-4; and (m) is 1, 2, or 3. A desired reagent can be kept stable during storage and released at a good timing of a necessary time, such as development or fixing process, by incorporating said reagent in each proper layer of a silver halide photosensitive material. |
