<p>PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of crops at the front and rear ends of a rolling material, in rolling a thick steel plate, by detecting the slant angle of the plate on a rolling line to compare it with a proper slant angle of the plate and rolling it by slanting side-guides by the portion of the difference. CONSTITUTION:In skew rolling a steel plate 10 by installing a reversible mill on the rolling line of plate 10, the positions of plate 10 in its rolling direction and the direction perpendicular to it are detected by a detector 13 and are inputted to a computor 14. On the other hand, a proper slant angle is computed by the computer 14 basing on the rolling reduction, width, length, and material, etc. of the material 10. These both values are displayed in displays 15, 16. The material is rolled after inputting the difference between both values to side- guide driving devices 20, and driving side-guide arms 19a, 19b to move side guides 17 to get a target angle with respect to the rolling line, thereby preventing the material from forming top and end crops.</p> |
