ULTRASONIC WAVE PROBE HAVING SEALING FILM FOR LIQUID LEAKAGE

PURPOSE:To detect a flaw precisely even when a flaw detecting surface is rough by inserting a flexible film from the periphery of an ultrasonic wave transmitting surface of an ultrasonic flaw detecting probe having a water feeding hole to the inside and pressing the film against the flaw detecting surface by liquid pressure inside the probe to prevent liquid leakage. CONSTITUTION:The water feeding hole 3 is formed on the ultrasonic probe 1 storing a transmitting/receiving vibrator and a flexible film 4 such as plastic is fitted to the probe 1 by a wear resistant metallic jig 5. The film 4 is inserted from the periphery of the ultrasonic wave transmitting surface of the probe 1 to the inside and is pressed against the flaw detecting surface 6 by water feeding pressure from a water feeding pipe 2 to prevent water leakage from a liquid staying space 7. Since the film 4 is sufficiently pressed into contact with the flaw detecting surface 6 even if undulation exists in the flaw detecting surface 6, liquid leakage is prevented and the ultrasonic transmittig surface can be precisely filled with the liquid, so that precise flaw detecting can be attained.
