PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute filtration treatment of a liquid to be treated by an immersion type membrane filtration system efficiently for a long period. SOLUTION: The immersion type membrane filtration equipment 3 is used to obtain a filtrate by applying the immersion type membrane filtration system to the liquid to be treated which is stored in a storage tank 2. The equipment has a tubular filter membrane module 4 which is housed and held with plural tubular filter membranes having the function to filter the liquid to be treated within a housing vessel 10 having a discharge port 12 for the filtrate, an air bubble feeder 5 for feeding air bubbles toward the tubular filter membrane module 4, a filtrate discharge route 6 extending from the discharge port 12 and back washing equipment 7 for passing the filtrate in the filtrate discharge route 6 back into the housing vessel 10 through the discharge port 12 while pressurizing the filtrate. In this immersion type membrane filtration equipment 3, the filtration components in the liquid to be treated which are deposited on the inside surfaces of the tubular filter membranes in filtration treatment are removed by the filtrate flowing backward within the housing vessel 10 by the back washing equipment 7.
