PURPOSE:A base material for an oral composition, consisting of anhydrous calcium hydrogenphosphate having adhered and aggregated specific plate crystals, having high cleaning power and improved juice effect and good feeling of use though low polishing power, and useful for dentifrice, etc. CONSTITUTION:A base material (polishing agent) consisting of anhydrous calcium hydrogenphosphate having adhered and aggregated plate crystals having 300-3,500Angstrom average value of crystallite size measured by the X-ray differactometry, 0.1-5mu average value of primary particle size, further preferably 2.65- 2.89g/cm<2> density and 2.5-20m<2>/g specific surface area measured by the BET method and 2-30mu average particle diameter, and useful for dentifrice or prophylaxis pastes, etc. The above-mentioned base material has moderate polishing power and high cleaning power on teeth and low scratching property on enamel of teeth and improved juice effect, mild taste and good feeling of use. |
