PURPOSE:To certainly prevent fray at the free edge part of a wire rope even if a stress is applied onto the wire rope and improve the safety during rope work by allowing a flexible thin band-shaped rubber body to be held at the free edge part where a loop of the wire rope is formed. CONSTITUTION:The free edge part 1 of a wire rope A is turned back into inverted U-figure shape, and the free edge part 1 is intertwisted onto the body part of the wire rope A, and a loop 2 is formed. In this case, a rubber body 3 made of synthetic rubber and natural rubber is held at the free edge 1-1 of the free edge part 1 in exposed state. Said rubber body 3 is formed into flexible thin band form and applied in multiple stages onto the free edge 1-1, and said wound part is compressed and welded and then held so as to surround the free edge 1-1. Each sectional area of the both edge parts 3-1 of the rubber body 3 is gradually reduced to form a conical form, and each thin film part 3-2 is formed at the both edges. |
