PURPOSE:To produce the titled material excellent in strength, rubber elasticity, etc., by reacting a polyisocyanate with a specified polyhydroxyl compound. CONSTITUTION:In producing a polyurethane material from a polyisocyanate and a polyhydroxyl compound as the main reaction component, at least part of said polyhydroxyl compound comprises a polyhydroxyl compound obtained by graft- polymerized a radical-polymerizable vinyl monomer, e.g., vinyl acetate or styrene, with an ester of a polyetherpolyol, e.g., poly(oxyethylene/oxypropylene) glycol, with a mercapto group-containing dicarboxylic acid or its reactive derivative, e.g., thiomalic acid or its lower alcohol ester. It is possible to obtain a polyurethane material particularly excellent in physical properties such as strength and rubber elasticity.
