PURPOSE:To make an abrasive in stabilized quality securable, by making such powder that is produced by pulverizing an inorganic powdery body stemming from a volcanic eruption a main component material, and heating, melting and sintering it after adding several kinds of auxiliary materials including a sponging agent and aluminum oxide or the like for manufacturing abrasives. CONSTITUTION:Eruptive inorganic powder or the like from volcanic ash, igneous rocks is made as a main material, and in order to make it easy to foam, a sponging agent and alkali plus alkaline earth metal are added as much as 1- 30% and furthermore as an auxiliary material, aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, bauxite, zirconia and various metallic powder are added and mixed at the rate of 1-50% to the main material according to application purposes for abrasives. This kneaded mixture is molded with a former and then formed by heating, melting and sintering so that such abrasives as being excellent in lightweight, high hardness and spreadability can be produced. Thus, making full use of untapped resources, low-unit cost of production is well promoted and, what is more, stabilized quality can be secured. |
