PURPOSE:To manufacture a spherical bearing which has a high accuracy and has a slide surface whose contact property is good by combining a sphere of a prescribed size and a bearing base material whose inside wall surface is spherical and subsequently cylindrical, applying in advance a lubricant to a contact surface of both of them, and executing a forging. CONSTITUTION:A sphere 1 worked to a prescribed finish size is combined with a bearing base material 4 on which a spherical inside wall surface 6 along a part of the outside circumferential surface of said sphere 1 continued from a lower end part circular hole 5, and its subsequent cylindrical inside wall surface 7 are formed, a lubricant is applied in advance to the surface to which both of them contact, and thereafter, they are set in a die 12 of a forging machine through a circular stage part 10 fitted precisely into said lower end part circluar hole 5, and a guide pin 8 having a long shaft part 11. Subsequently, a punch 13 fixed to a pressure ram side is lowered, said bearing base material 4 is plastically deformed by forging, and a contact surface is formed through the sphere 1 and a uniform lubricating layer 3. Next, the bearing base material 4 surrounding the sphere 1 is machined to a prescribed shape size, and a desired spherical bearing is obtained. |
