PURPOSE:To obtain a titled flux which has good slag detachability and forms a defectless and beautiful weld bead by incorporating a specific ratio of SiO2, TiO2, MgO and MnO as essential components in said flux in such a way that the contents of said components satisfy the specific inequality. CONSTITUTION:A flux is so prepd. that said flux contains, by weight %, 26- 50% SiO2, 21-55% TiO2, 6-30% MgO and 5-14% MnO as essential components and that the contents of the respective components satisfy the inequality consisting of 0.20<(CaO+MnO+MgO)/(SiO2+TiO2)<0.47. It is possible to incorporate <=13% Al2O3, <=10% CaO, <=10% metallic fluoride (CaF2, etc.) and <=10% metallic oxide (FeO, BaO, etc.) accordig to need. The grain size of the flux is so constituted as to contain 0.1-20% fine grains having 0.07-1.0mm. diameter. |
